Nativity Success

Today saw our second of two performances of our Christmas play.  All the children were amazing, especially those who were very brave and spoke a few lines!

We hope everyone had a lovely time at both our performances, we all did!!

Successful Night

We had a lovely evening at the Long Eaton Christmas Lights Switch On event last Friday.  A big thanks has to go out to Katie, Adam, Sylvia, Anne-Marie, Jayne and Molly for braving the freezing cold and generating £66 profit!

Also a big thank to our newest friend, Springy the dog who made everyone smile!!

Christmas Light Switch On

On Friday 2nd December we will be at the Long Eaton Christmas Lights Switch On!!

We will have a stall located somewhere near The Corner Pin and will be having a Lucky Dip and Sweet Cup Tombola!!

We will also be having a very special visitor!!!  So come along and say Hello and meet pre-school's newest friend!!

The event runs from 5.30pm - 8.30pm with the lights being switched on at 7.00pm.

Christmas Fayre Success

Many thanks to everyone who supported our Christmas Fayre on Saturday, we had a fantastic afternoon and raised a record figure of £900!!!

WOW!!  Thank you so much, your support and generosity is greatly appreciated by all connected with Springfield Pre-school.

Christmas Fayre

Saturday 26th November is the date to have in your diaries for our annual Christmas Fayre.

There promises to be lots of fun for all the family with a range of stalls; everything from cakes and refreshments to crafts and tombolas to a BBQ and raffle and not forgetting a very special visitor.......Santa will be in his grotto to greet both young and old!!

So come along and join us between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on Saturday 26th November.

Christmas Shopping Evening Update

A big thank you to everyone involved in last week's Christmas Shopping Evening, from all the stall holders to everyone who came along and did a little shopping!

We generated an amazing £227 profit from the evening - thank you!

Christmas Shopping Evening

Tickets are now on sale for our Christmas Shopping Evening on Thursday 10th November, priced at £3 each which includes a glass of wine and raffle ticket.

The evening will take place at pre-school between 7.30pm and 9.30pm and there will be a number of stalls that should get your Christmas shopping off to a good start - everything from Partylite Candles, Blissful Beauty (treatments), Risley Fashion House, Housley & Co Homemade Gifts, Rose & Perk Giftware, Phoenix Cards, Body Shop, Jewellery & Crafts and much more!

Lovely time had by all....

Many thanks to everyone who joined us today for our 'Bring Your Parents to School Day', it was lovely to see so many of our parents and have the chance to chat over a cup of tea and cake!

We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did!

Bring Your Parents to School Day

On Friday 14th October we will be opening our doors to you, the parents, for our Bring Your Parents to School Day!

From 9.30 am until 2.00pm you are invited to come along and see what we get up to during a day at pre-school, it's your chance to have a good look around and find out what we do and why we do what we do!  It's also chance to have a chat with our staff and find out ways in which you can help make a difference to your child's pre-school.

Refreshments and cakes will be available!  We look forward to seeing everyone, new parents, old parents, friends and family - everyone is welcome!

Committee Meeting & AGM

On Thursday 29th September we will be having our first committee meeting of the year, it will be held at The Risley Park Pub at 7.30pm.  This will also be our AGM where we will elect our committee members.

The meeting will give us chance to look back at our achievements of last year as well as looking forward to all our future events.  We are in desperate need of new committee members and would encourage all parents to come along and get involved.

If you would like to know more about what the committee is all about please speak to Jayne.

New School Year

We hope you have all had an enjoyable Summer Holidays and are looking forward to the new school year.

End of Year Concert

Well didn't they do well?!!! This afternoon's concert was lovely, the children performed fantastically and surprisingly few tears were shed!!

We shall miss all of those moving onto Nursery or Reception Year but wish you all the very best of luck.

Summer Fayre Success

A big thank you to everyone who got involved with last Saturday's Summer Fayre whether you helped out before the day, you manned a stall or you came out despite the rain and spent your hard earned money!!

We raised an amazing £770!!! Thank You!!

Summer Fayre Update

Preparations are now well under way for this year's Summer Fayre on Saturday 16th July 1 - 3pm.

We will be having pony rides, BBQ, raffle, refreshments, cakes, strawberries & cream, crafts, sand play and lots lots more.

There will also be stalls from local businesses selling candles, homewares and discounted make-up and perfume.

Something for everyone!!

If you can help out in anyway or know someone who would like to have a stall please let Jayne know as soon as possible - thank you!

Help Needed!!!

With planning now under way for our Summer Fayre (Saturday 16th July, 1 - 3pm) we are in desperate need of helpers.

Our Summer Fayre will only be a success if we can find enough people willing to help out and lend a hand either on the day or in the run up to the fayre.

We need volunteers to ask local businesses for raffle prizes and display posters, we need helpers to help set up and clear away on the day, people to man the stalls, to bake cakes.....if you can help in any way please let Jayne know as soon as possible.

Fundraisers, like the Summer Fayre, are vital to the continued success of our preschool so please help us to help you and your children.

Committee Meeting

Don't forget this Thursday, 16th June, we have a Committee Meeting at the Risley Park Pub at 7.45pm to discuss our upcoming Summer Fayre.

Everyone is welcome, in fact the more the merrier!

We need your help to make our Summer Fayre a success and generate all those much needed pennies for pre-school. Without events, like our Summer Fayre, we simply would not be able to provide all the fantastic resources and activities that we do; fundraising is vital to keep our pre-school flourishing.

Hope to see lots of you at the meeting on Thursday.

Video Time

Don't forget next Thursday (16th June) we will be visited by Kids Klub Video giving your child the chance to star in their very own mini beast adventure video!

If you're child does not normally attend pre-school on a Thursday but you would like them to take part please complete the 'Time Slots' sheet on the main door - thanks.

Its a really fun day with some wonderful results!

Closed - 6th June 2011

Please remember that pre-school will be closed on Monday 6th June in lieu of the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday.

We will be open as normal on Tuesday 7th June.

Sundown Fun

We had a fantastic time on Wednesday 11th May at Sundown Adventureland near Retford. The weather stayed fine and all those that went had loads of fun.

Sundown is ideal for children aged 6 and under, all rides are designed with all children in this age group in mind - well worth a visit.

Easter Fundraiser Success

What a lovely day to have our sports day and Easter fundraiser and what a success - we raised an amazing £500!!

Many thanks to everyone who supported this event. We hope you enjoyed the 'sports' and had a lovely time in the sunshine!

Easter Fundraiser - Friday 8th April

On Friday 8th April we will be having our annual Easter fundraiser, this year we will be having a mini sports day and picnic (weather permitting!!).

All the fun starts at 11.30am with our mini sports day, there will be the chance to have a picnic and a chat with cakes and refreshments on sale as well as a raffle, Easter Egg tombola, and Egg Rolling competition.

We hope everyone can come along and join in the fun. Don't forget to bring any sold raffle tickets with you!!

Please note that the Friday morning session will finish early at 11.30am, thank you.

Cake Stall Success

Many thanks to everyone who baked and bought at our cake stall on Monday 14th February, we raised a fantastic £60!!

Valentine's Cake Stall

On Monday 14th February we will be having a Valentine's Day cake stall.

So get your baking tins at the ready!  All donations (home-made or shop bought) should be brought into pre-school first thing Monday morning and the sale will take place at 11.45am and 2.45pm.

All monies raised will help fund much needed craft supplies.

Primary School Places

If your child was born between 1st September 2006 and 31st August 2007 they will be due to start Primary School in the academic year September 2011 to August 2012.

Applications for your child's place at Primary School need to be made through Derbyshire County Council by midnight on Saturday 15th January 2011.

(This applies to those living within Derbyshire, if you live within Nottinghamshire you will need to apply direct to Nottinghamshire County Council by the same date)
