Having had lots of practice at our pencil control over the past few weeks we will now be assessing the children's development and planning for their next steps to ensure that we have the right resources and activities to support their development further.

What’s Happening at Pre-School - w/c 22nd March 2021

Topic
This half term we will be talking about healthy eating and our bodies. We will look at different parts of our bodies and how they work. This week we will be talking about our lungs and how we breathe. We will talk about breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide.

We will continue with our 'PE' time each session and focusing on how our breathing changes the faster we move.

We will also be focusing on pencil control over this half term. Looking at drawing lines and circles, writing names and using colours for purpose.

Shapes of the Week

We will now be looking at 3D shapes along with our knowledge of 2D shapes. This week we will continue with recapping all the shapes we have learnt so far this term - Rectangle & Cuboid, Circle & Sphere and Square & Cube

We will be talking about the properties of each shape; what makes them special? How many sides do they have? Where can we see them in the world around us?

Newsletter - March 2021

Hi all,

Fees
Just a reminder that our fees will be increasing from 1st April to £4.75 an hour. Invoices for April will be issued around the 22nd March with payment required by 5th April.

Funded Places
For those children claiming funding for the first time we will shortly be sending home an FE1 Funding form which should be completed in full, signed and returned as quickly as possible.

Anyone wanting to claim the 30 Hours Funding for the first time will need to apply for their code before the 31st March. If you are already accessing this funding please make sure that you re-confirm your code every three months when prompted.

www.childcarechoices.gov.uk is the site to visit if you want to find out what funding or help you may be entitled to.

Early Drop-Off
With effect from 8th March we will be reinstating our Early Drop-Off service. Children can be dropped off at 8.45am for a small charge of £2.35. This must be arranged and paid for in advance. If this is something you'd like to take advantage of please drop us an email.

End of Session Collection Times
Please be mindful that sometimes we have a lot of children to reunite with parents at collection times and it can be quite daunting for children when there are lots of people gathering. Please keep the number of people collecting children to the absolute minimum and once your child has been collected try to exit the premises as quickly as possible so that the next parent can move forward to collect their child. Many thanks for your understanding and appreciation.

Parental Agreement
Can we please remind parents, as per our parental agreement, of the following;

  • Government social distancing guidelines must be adhered to at all times by keeping 2 metres apart from all other individuals

  • While on pre-school property parents must wear a face covering, unless medically exempt.

  • Parents/carers are encouraged to arrive on time for pre-school, excessively late arrivals will result in your child not being admitted for the day

  • Drop-off and collection is limited to one adult per family; please avoid bringing siblings along where possible

  • Parents/carers will not congregate in groups outside of pre-school to chat and socialise; pre-school reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone that has been observed breaking government social distancing guidelines and this will result in their child’s place being revoked

  • At drop-off and collection parents/carers are responsible for their own child who must not mix with other children, nor be allowed to ‘explore’ the pre-school grounds.

  • Parents/carers will not leave bikes/scooters/pushchairs on pre-school property

We would also remind parents to be considerate of those around you and keep your language child friendly at all times!

Thank You

A big thank you to all those parents who bought pre-school photos back in October of last year. We have finally received the commission from those sales and are in the process of buying some lovely new toys for our youngest of children. Here's just a few of them;

Easter Fun & Fundraising

Please keep an eye out for more information coming home soon about our Easter week at pre-school. All children are invited to take part in our Easter Bonnet competition and we are just in the process of finalising some amazing prizes for our raffle!
