What’s Happening at Pre-School - w/c 22nd February 2021

Topic

This half term we will be talking about healthy eating and our bodies. We will look at different parts of our bodies and how they work. This week we will be focusing on our brains as well as talking about what we eat at breakfast time.

We will also be focusing on pencil control over this half term. Looking at drawing lines and circles, writing names and using colours for purpose.

Story

Over the next couple of weeks we will be reading 'Handa's Surprise' and this week we will be making masks of all the different animals in the story.

Shapes of the Week

We will now be looking at 3D shapes along with our knowledge of 2D shapes. This week it will be Sphere & Circle

We will be talking about the properties of each shape; what makes them special? How many sides do they have? Where can we see them in the world around us?

Focus Activity

This week we will be looking at colours and mixing them together. We will be working out how we can make colours go lighter and darker.
