Hi Everyone,
This is our second week of our 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' topic. We will be setting up a 'Bear hunt' themed obstacle course in the physical area. We will be using maps, binoculars and bear masks while completing the course, acting out our very own 'Bear Hunt' story. Will we find the Bear hiding in the cave?.
The children will be taking part in lots of activities that promote our fine manipulative skills and pencil control development. This will be our focus of the week. We will be doing our playdough finger gym for our ring game this week. On creative we will be using a variety of different tools to draw and paint with. We will be tracing patterns and letters in the mark making tray outdoors. We will be hunting for bugs in the investigation unit, using the tweezers to catch them. In the water tray we will be using our fishing nets to catch the fish as well as using the pipettes to fill small containers. Our compare Bears will be stuck in the mud (cornflour), what tools can we use to rescue them?
During singing time, we will be singing lots of our favourite finger rhymes. For example, two little dicky birds, 1,2,3,4,5 and Tommy thumb as well as our new grizzly bear song that the children have loved taking part in so far.
Please remember to log into Tapestry, this gives you the opportunity to share all the lovely activities and photos with your children at home. Including what their next steps are.
