What's Happening at Pre-school w/c 08.01.24

Hi Everyone,
We hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. We are looking forward to welcoming all our children back to pre-school this week.
Please remember that Monday 8th January pre-school will be closed for inset day.
Our topic to start the term off will be Winter Time. We will be learning all about what happens outdoors during the winter season and what clothes we may need to wear to keep us warm. We will also be learning all about different arctic animals.
The focus of the week will be on Shape. We will be playing with shapes, fitting shapes into different spaces (jigsaws/shape sorters), and constructing with them too. We will be exploring both 2D and 3D shapes. Can we match them, recognise and name them?
We will be building shape snowmen on the maths table. We will be getting messy in the shaving foam, experimenting with the marks different tools make. I wonder what shapes can we draw? We will be playing with arctic animals in the water tray and using the shape cutters in our snow themed playdough.
We will be singing some of our favourite winter songs and sharing some winter themed stories. During our movement time we will be moving like arctic animals in a variety of different ways.
Please remember to log into Tapestry, this gives you the opportunity to share all the lovely activities and photos with your children at home. Including what their next steps are.
Any questions please ask or use Tapestry.
Many Thanks
'The Ladies'
