Hi Everyone,
This week we move onto our new topic Springtime. We will be learning all about baby animals and how plants grow.
Our home corner will be turned into 'Springfield's Garden Centre and Farm Shop'. We will be playing with flowers, real vegetables, plant pots and tools. Our focus of the week will be weight and capacity; we will incorporate this into our imaginative area by providing weighing scales and different sized plant pots.
In our small world and messy play tray we will have our farm set out, with green spaghetti and cornflakes to play in too!
We will be bringing our large outdoor scales indoors this week into our maths area. The children will be provided with lots of different objects and resources to explore with and weigh.
Outdoors in our investigation unit the children will be playing in compost with real baby vegetables, spades and plant pots. The sand tray will have different sixed containers for the children to fill and empty, and we will be taking our playdough outdoors this week, with rolling pins and springtime cutters.
We have lot's of spring themed activities planned on creative, we will be making textured sheep, decorating and painting flowers, vegetable printing and much, much more.
We will be reading some of our favourite Spring themed stories and singing lots of different animal songs too.
A busy week ahead but lots of fun 🌸
