We managed to raise £650 which will go direct to pre-school to help us buy much needed new equipment for our playroom.

Committee Members Needed

We are in desperate need of parents to be involved with our pre-school committee, the Springfield Action Team.

According to our constitution, and our registered charity status, we need a parent committee to be fully in place for pre-school to be able to operate and function legally.

Our committee needs to consist of at least 5 named people.  Our current Chairperson and Fund Raising Officer stepped down from their roles at our AGM on 1st October but we failed to get any volunteers to take over their roles.  Both have agreed to stay on in their current positions but only until Christmas.

So we desperately need people to fill these positions sooner rather than later, otherwise we would be breaking the terms of our constitution and would be forced to close our doors.  All committee positions are open to job shares - the more the merrier!

If anyone feels they could help out in any way please speak to Jayne at your earliest convenience - thank you!

Committee Planning Meeting

Springfield Action Team (our parent committee) will be meeting on Wednesday 21st October at Little Drivers in Stapleford at 3.30pm to discuss upcoming fund raising events, in particular the Christmas Fayre.

All parents are invited, all willing volunteers needed!

Important Dates

A few dates for your diary as we start one of the busiest times of the year...

Tuesday 17th November - Photographer to visit pre-school, photos make lovely Christmas presents and raise money for pre-school at the same time.

Saturday 28th November - Christmas Fayre - to be held at pre-school between 2.30pm & 4.30pm, lots of festive fun for all the family.

Tuesday 15th December (afternoon) and Wednesday 16th December (morning) will see performances of our Christmas Concert.

Friday 18th December - Children's Christmas Party - to be held at pre-school between 10.30am & 12.30pm, lots of fun and games and the perfect way to end a very busy term!

Friday 18 September 2009

Committee AGM

Our first committee meeting of the new school year is also our AGM.

This will be held on Thursday 1st October at the Risley Park pub at 7.30pm.  Everyone is welcome, this is your chance as a parent to have a say in how your child's pre-school operates.

Our AGM sees the election of the main roles of our committee - chairperson, secretary, treasurer, fund raising officer.  Anyone interested in taking an active role in our committee should speak to our existing chairperson, Carla, or to Jayne.

Our constitution stipulates the requirement for our pre-school to have a parent committee and without a committee we would simply not be able to function.  It is vitally important therefore that as many parents as possible get involved and help to keep our pre-school going from strength to strength.

We hope to see lots of you there!

Improvements!

Have you noticed our fantastic new toilets!!

Over the summer we have completely re-vamped our toilets.  We now have 3 toilets as well as extra hand basins, wider access and a dedicated changing table and area.

Many thanks to local builder Eric Hopewell for completing the work.

Many thanks must also go out to Stapleford & Sandiacre Rotary Club for donating £1000 and to Stapleford & Sandiacre Ladies Darts League for donating £100.  This along with funding from Derbyshire County Council and the fantastic fund raising efforts from our own events organised by our committee and supported by our parents has enabled this project to be completed.

Thank you all.
