Well it looks like Summer has arrived with some lovely sunshine but boy is it warm!
Please remember to send your child to pre-school with sun-cream applied and with a sun hat too. We will re-apply sun-cream throughout the day as circumstances dictate. It is also advisable to send your child with a bottle of water (with name clearly on please) on days when it is very hot!
Our Summer Fair is only a few weeks away and we hope that lots of you can join us on Friday 7th July from 4pm to 6pm. Entry will be £2 per adult with a complimentary drink and children will be free. We will have lots of stalls and fund things to do and all money raised from this event will go direct to pre-school. We are in need of donations for our raffle as well as helpers on the day so if you are able to help out with the fair in anyway please let Jayne know either on 07960 983423 or email springfieldpreschool@hotmail.co.uk Thank you!
We will have our Leavers Concert on Monday 17th July and invites have now been issued to all those taking part. Our concert will be having a Disney theme and parents are requested to help out by providing suitably themed costumes! Any questions please see Jayne, Jaime or Katie.
As we approach the end of the academic year we will also be generating children's learning journals via Tapestry. So please keep an eye on your email towards the end of July for more information.
Any questions please get in touch with Jayne - thanks!

Summer Term Fun
Well we are now into the last term of our academic year and there is lots happening!
On Wednesday 14th June we will be having our Open Day & Sports Day event; starting at 10.00am we will open our doors for anyone (existing and new parents) to pop along, meet the staff and find out a little bit more about what Springfield Pre-School can offer you and your child. At 1.00pm we will stop for a picnic lunch before having some athletic fun with our Sports Day at 2.00pm.
Friday 7th July, from 4.00pm till 6.00pm sees our annual Summer Fair. There will be hot dogs, cakes, raffle, tombolas, crafts and much, much more. Entry will be just £2 for adults with a complimentary drink of something sparkly! (children are free). All proceeds from this event go direct to pre-school; providing much needed funds to ensure that we can continue to provide high quality resources, activities and education for your children.
On Monday 17th July we will have our Disney themed Leavers Concert; a chance to get together with all those children moving onto big school and celebrate their time with us. This could be a rather emotional event...tears are expected!
Parents will also be given full access to their child's online learning journal towards the end of this term which they will be able to download and keep. More details will come home closer to the time.
We also hope to meet our new September starters throughout the next few weeks as we get ready to welcome them to Springfield.
Wow! It's going to be a busy term! :)

Places for September
We are now taking names for children to start with us this September.
We accept children aged between 2 and 4 years old and are able to offer free places for all 3 and 4 years olds as well as two year funding for those eligible two year olds.
As from this September the government are introducing a maximum of 30 hours free childcare per week for children aged 3 & 4 years, dependent on certain criteria being met. Please have a look at Childcare Choices website to find out what you could be entitled to and how to access it. Please note that all 3 & 4 year olds will still be entitled to up to 15 hours per week funded childcare but some may qualify for an additional 15 hours to make a maximum of 30 hours.

Mornings - 9.15am - 12.15pm
Afternoons - 12.45pm - 3.45pm
We also offer a lunch club each day from 12.15pm - 12.45pm, with parents providing a packed lunch.

Welcome to the Summer Term!
Well we hope everyone has had a good couple of weeks holiday and are ready for the start of the Summer term.
The first half of the term is quite short but we have lots happening. We will be taking delivery of some caterpillars in the next few days which we hope will grow into some beautiful butterflies; keeping in with our Very Hungry Caterpillar theme at the moment.
We have an Inset Day on Monday 15th May but with a difference; we will be inviting all parents and children to join the staff for a couple of hours picnic & fun at Elvaston Castle. More details will be coming home to parents in the next few days.
We will also be sending home letters asking parents for their session requirements in September! Yes September!! There are lots of new things happening in relation to funded childcare and parents will be able to check online to see exactly what they are entitled to...and this may then have an impact on what sessions parents would like for September. Please visit Childcare Choices to find out more.
And before you know it we will be on break again!

It's Official we are GOOD!
We are very proud and pleased to announce that following last weeks Ofsted inspection we have been awarded the grade of 'Good'.
Everyone involved with pre-school works very hard every day to ensure that we are providing the best possible levels of care and education and it is great to get the official confirmation of this. A big well done to all involved.
The full report will be available on the Ofsted website in a few days time but should anyone wish to have a copy then please speak to our manager Jayne.

Christmas Fair Success
We had a lovely afternoon on Saturday and in the process managed to raise £1196 for pre-school! That is an amazing result and we would just like to thank everyone who was involved in making it such a success. From our staff and committee who worked hard organising before and on the day to all those people who bought raffle tickets, donated cakes, donated prizes and who came along and spent their pennies on the day.
A special thank you has to go to Santa for taking a couple of hours out of his busy schedule to come along and visit!!
A big thank you to the following for their generous donations;
